Job summary

Morgan McKinley in County Monaghan is seeking a Maintenance Manager to lead the maintenance function, driving engineering best practice, maximizing equipment performance and supporting operational excellence across the site.

You'll develop and implement preventive maintenance strategies, standardise engineering systems, manage maintenance spend, and coach a high‑performing maintenance team in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

  • Engineering degree or equivalent qualification with leadership experience.
  • Experience leading maintenance in manufacturing.
  • Strong knowledge of asset management and preventive maintenance.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the site maintenance department to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operations.
  • Develop and implement asset management and preventative maintenance strategies.
  • Drive standardisation of engineering systems across production areas.
  • Manage maintenance management systems, spare parts control, and engineering software platforms.
  • Oversee budgets and control expenditure on spare parts and activities.
  • Plan and prioritise maintenance activities to minimise downtime.
  • Coach and develop maintenance teams through training and performance management.
  • Champion continuous improvement across engineering and operations.
  • Collaborate with production and project teams to deliver new equipment and processes.
  • Monitor contractor performance, ensuring safety, quality, and value.
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, Food Safety, Environmental, and legislative requirements.

Maintenance Manager

Location: County Monaghan

Are you an experienced engineering leader with a passion for asset reliability, continuous improvement, and people development? We are seeking a Maintenance Manager to lead the maintenance function, ensuring the effective delivery of engineering best practice, maximising equipment performance, and supporting operational excellence across the site.

This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key leadership role within a fast-paced manufacturing environment, driving preventative maintenance strategies, improving asset performance, and developing a high-performing maintenance team.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Lead and manage the site maintenance department to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operations.
  • Develop and implement asset management best practices and preventative maintenance strategies.
  • Drive standardisation of engineering systems across production areas.
  • Manage maintenance management systems, spare parts control, and engineering software platforms.
  • Oversee maintenance budgets and control expenditure on spare parts and engineering activities.
  • Plan and prioritise maintenance activities to minimise downtime and maximise equipment reliability.
  • Develop, coach, and support maintenance teams through training, performance management, and succession planning.
  • Champion a culture of continuous improvement across engineering and operations.
  • Collaborate with production and project teams to successfully deliver new equipment, products, and process developments.
  • Manage contractor performance, ensuring safety, quality, and value for money.
  • Monitor and maintain site engineering KPIs and compliance standards.
  • Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety, Food Safety, Environmental, and legislative requirements.
Essential Criteria
  • Level 3 Electrical or Mechanical Engineering qualification.
  • Significant engineering and maintenance leadership experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of asset management and preventative maintenance systems.
  • Proven experience managing maintenance teams and departmental budgets.
  • Strong understanding of site utilities, services, and infrastructure.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and people development skills.
  • Passion for continuous improvement and operational excellence.
