Qualifications

• Level 7 or higher degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Energy Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience in design, project management and construction of buildings.
• Experience in energy management practices and energy analysis.
• Experience with Building Management Systems is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Plan and supervise major/minor energy capital works and upgrades.
• Prepare briefs and budgets for capital projects within approved limits.
• Select contractors for bids; recommend tenders for acceptance.
• Ensure compliance with EU procurement and financial regs.
• Supervise staff and contractors on project implementation.
• Progress energy and carbon reduction via energy management teams.
• Monitor energy consumption and report findings.
• Establish Energy Management Teams in locations identified.
• Provide data, KPIs, and energy/water usage insights.
• Support environmental management plans and energy audits.
• Prepare funding applications for capital works programmes.

Energy Project Manager Our Client is a major Healthcare facility based in Dublin, they currently have a requirement for an Energy Project Manager for their Energy Management team. Two year contract initially with good potential for future advancement. Outline Description/Responsibilities: Plan and supervise the execution of major & minor capital works as they relate to Energy and Carbon reduction works and upgrades Assist in the preparation of comprehensive brief for the proposed major and minor capital projects in consultation with services and estates personnel and advisors. Prepare budgets for the carrying out of the proposed Minor & Major Capital work programmes and ensuring that projects are within agreed budgets. Be responsible for Minor Works lists, selection of contractors for bid purposes and recommendation of tenders for acceptance for all projects. Ensure compliance with EU procurement and financial regulations. Supervise staff and contractors in the implementation of the agreed programme. Provide Technical Support role to service personnel and other estates personnel as required. Progress Energy and carbon reduction through energy management teams and behavioural change programmes by: Monitoring and reporting on the energy consumption Support existing and Initiate and implement new Energy Awareness Management Teams in locations as identified Existing and New. Build on Best Practise in existing areas. Establish Energy Management Teams in locations identified including Hospital Manager /Finance Manager /Maintenance Manager/ Estates Representative. Work closely with and support Hospital Green Teams and Energy Teams. Provide/make available metered energy and water usage data / comparators and KPIs. Progress Energy Audits. Monitoring and reporting on the energy consumption in the Hospital. Run User Education and Energy Awareness Programmes. Develop Registers of opportunities for Energy and carbon emissions reduction initiatives and works. Provide Water conservation and management advice and support. Assisting in developing Environmental Management Plans. Produce ongoing Register of Opportunities and provide project development support for a pipeline of retrofit projects as will be identified by local Green and Energy Teams. Progress Funding Applications - capital works (major and minor) programmes. Manage the specification, design, procurement and completion of energy minor capital works. Requirements: Level 7 or higher degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Energy Engineering or equivalent technical discipline Experience of the design, project management and construction of buildings or in the installation or maintenance of the mechanical, electrical and heating services of such buildings. Experience in best energy management practice leading and/or guiding energy management teams Experience in Energy Analysis (bills analysis, use of energy monitoring software) Good communication and presentation skills able to communicate energy related topics to non-technical people Ideal but not essential: Experience in project management from concept stage to handover Experience in tendering and public procurement practices Experience and understanding of Building Management Systems and energy savings that can be achieved through optimising set points etc. Experience in design engineering Skills: Mechanical Engineering Electrical Engineering Energy Engineering HVAC Building Services TPBN1_IJ
