Job summary

Hollybank Trustees Ltd. is seeking an Energy Engineer to support its Fleet and Sustainability teams within the Asset Management Department. The role focuses on collecting and analysing energy data, coordinating compliance, and driving energy efficiency and electrification initiatives across sites.

You will develop practical proposals, manage procurement activities and collaborate with multiple teams to deliver sustainable energy solutions. This position is based on site at Loughrea, Co. Galway.

Qualifications

  • Relevant degree or experience in Energy, Energy Engineering, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Data Analytics or related technical discipline.
  • Strong numerical, analytical and Excel skills with confidence handling large datasets.
  • Good understanding of energy, fuels and energy efficiency; energy/fuel industry experience is advantageous.
  • Ability to analyse data and develop practical, commercially sound recommendations.
  • Organised, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities and drive initiatives to completion.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills across technical, operational and commercial teams.
  • Knowledge of renewable energy, alternative fuels, electrification, and energy procurement.

Responsibilities

  • Collect, validate, analyse and report energy and fuel data across offices, sites, accommodation, vehicles, plant and other assets.
  • Coordinate energy-related compliance, audits and reporting across relevant countries.
  • Support Fleet Manager for Group Fleet / Transport sector including fleet management and budgeting.
  • Drive energy and fuel transition by identifying opportunities and delivering initiatives for efficiency and electrification.
  • Develop energy and fuel-related proposals, assessing costs, ROI, risks and environmental impact.
  • Manage energy and fuel procurement activities and build relationships with suppliers and providers.
  • Ensure value for money on all energy and fuel purchases.
  • Lead internal engagement and communications relating to energy and fuel.
  • Collaborate with Fleet, Sustainability, Finance, Operations, Project Delivery, Procurement and others to implement energy initiatives.
  • Support client engagements relating to energy and fuel solutions for projects and sites.
  • Stay updated on emerging technologies, market developments, opportunities and compliance obligations.

Role: Energy Engineer

Location Base: Head Office, Loughrea, Co. Galway

The Role:

Reporting to the Fleet Manager, as Energy Engineer you will support the Fleet and Sustainability teams working within the Asset Management Department.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:
  • · Collect, validate, analyse and report energy and fuel data across offices, sites, accommodation, vehicles, plant and other assets, ensuring data is accurate, complete and supported by appropriate evidence.
  • · Coordinate energy-related compliance, audits and reporting requirements across relevant countries.
  • · Support to the Fleet Manager for Group Fleet / Transport sector in its entirety, including fleet management, commercial planning and budgeting, fleet asset maintenance and reporting.
  • · Drive the organisation’s energy and fuel transition, identifying opportunities and working with relevant teams to develop and deliver initiatives that improve energy efficiency and transition towards renewable energy, alternative fuels and electrification.
  • · Develop energy and fuel-related proposals and business cases, assessing costs, ROI, operational requirements, risks, energy performance and environmental impact.
  • · Manage relevant energy and fuel procurement activities and develop relationships with utilities, energy and fuel suppliers, technology providers and other external stakeholders.
  • · Ensure value for money on all the Groups energy and fuel purchases.
  • · Lead internal engagement and communications relating to energy and fuel.
  • · Work with Fleet, Sustainability, Finance, Operations, Project Delivery, Procurement, and other teams to support implementation, adoption and delivery relating to energy and fuel initiatives.
  • · Support client engagements relating to energy and fuel solutions for projects and sites.
  • · Keep up to date with emerging technologies, market developments, opportunities and compliance obligations related to fuel and energy.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
  • · Relevant degree or experience in Energy, Energy Engineering, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Data Analytics or a related technical discipline.
  • · Strong numerical, analytical and Excel skills, with confidence working with large datasets.
  • · Strong understanding of energy, fuels and energy efficiency. Energy or fuel industry experience would be highly advantageous.
