Job summary

Bentley Systems in Dublin, Ireland seeks a Senior Payroll Specialist to lead end-to-end payroll for EMEA, ensuring compliance and system improvements.

You will mentor juniors, coordinate with providers, manage calendars and reporting, and partner with HR, Finance and Tax on complex payroll matters in a hybrid, 1 day in-office per week role. Experience with Workday or Dayforce preferred; strong Excel, confidentiality, and stakeholder management required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on payroll experience in EMEA multi-country payroll.
• Senior-level experience with mentoring, training and supporting junior colleagues.
• Experience with Workday or Dayforce strongly preferred; payroll system implementations or upgrades is a plus.
• Advanced MS Excel skills (lookups, pivots, data reconciliation).
• Strong statutory & tax knowledge across relevant jurisdictions.
• Fluent English with excellent communication and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Own complex and/or high-volume country payrolls end-to-end, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Serve as senior point of contact for payroll providers and resolve complex issues.
• Manage payroll calendars, inputs, approvals and documentation.
• Lead review of payroll inputs including hires, terminations, bonuses, and deductions.
• Review provider calculations, registers and variance reports for accuracy.
• Analyse discrepancies, determine root cause and drive resolutions with providers.
• Reconcile payroll results with HR/Finance and investigate variances.
• Monitor filings and reporting to ensure timely compliance.
• Maintain payroll procedures, calendars and contact lists.
• Lead off-cycle payments, year-end activities and audits.
• Partner with HR, Finance, Benefits, Equity, Tax and Treasury on payroll matters.
• Act as SME for assigned countries and guide Payroll Specialists.
