Job summary

Dornan Engineering in Athlone is seeking an Electrical QA / QC Inspector to join our pharmaceutical project team. You will conduct routine inspections to verify installation quality and compliance, and take ownership of the snagging process through site walkdowns and observations.

You will review installations, sign off the FOAK process to ensure quality from the outset, manage drawings and turnover documentation, and lead QA activities through turnover and handover to support project success.

Qualifications

• Electrical qualifications or degree required.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems.
• Pharma data centre experience preferable.
• QA/QC, inspection, turnover, commissioning, or construction quality management experience.
• Understanding of drawings, specifications, quality procedures and testing.
• Excellent attention to detail and issue resolution.
• Strong document management and organisational skills.
• Effective communication and stakeholder management.
• Proficiency in MS Office and electronic document management systems.

• Compile and manage turnover packages with complete quality documentation.

Electrical QA / QC Inspector – Athlone

Dornan Engineering is a well established and leading Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation and HVAC engineering and construction company, with major project experience across a wide range of sectors in Ireland, Europe and the UK.
Dornan are involved in projects across many sectors such as Pharmaceutical, Power, Waste to Energy, Commercial, Data Centre and Petrochemical.
Due to the continuous growth with Dornan Engineering, we are currently looking to recruit an experienced Electrical QA / QC Inspector to join the company on exciting projects.

At Dornanwe are currently recruiting an Electrical QA / QC Inspector to work on a pharmaceutical project in the Athlone.

Your day to day will include:

• Conduct routine inspections to verify the quality and compliance of installations.
• Take ownership of the snagging process through scheduled walkdowns and site observations.
• Review and critically assess installations to ensure client walkdowns are completed with minimal or no snags.
• Manage and sign off the First of a Kind (FOAK) process to ensure quality standards are achieved from the outset.
• Maintain control and distribution of construction drawings, schedules, specifications, and related documentation.
• Act as the QA lead for allocated turnover scope, managing activities from construction completion through inspection, testing, and final handover.
• Participate in the Quality Surveillance Programme to monitor and verify installation quality and compliance.
• Compile and manage turnover packages, ensuring all required quality and completion documentation is included and accurate.

About You:

• Electrical trade qualified or degree qualified.
• Excellent knowledge of electrical systems.
• Previous experience within a pharmaceutical datacentre environment preferable
• Experience in QA/QC, inspection, turnover, commissioning, or construction quality management within industrial, pharmaceutical, data centre, or commercial projects.
• Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, quality procedures, and inspection/testing requirements.
• Excellent attention to detail with the ability to identify and resolve quality issues proactively.
• Strong document management and organisational skills.
• Effective communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and electronic document management systems.
