Dornan Group is seeking an Electrical Chargehand to join our Athlone-based team on a pharmaceutical project. You will lead electrical crews, review drawings, and ensure safe, on-schedule delivery of installation works.

The role requires an Electrical trade qualification and a minimum of 1+ years supervising on large industrial or pharma projects. You will drive safety culture, manage materials, and coordinate with engineers and supervisors while maintaining GMP and client standards on site.

Qualifikationen

• Qualified electrician with at least 1+ year supervising electrical installs on large pharma/industrial projects.
• Strong GMP, ATEX and LOTO knowledge.
• Ability to interpret drawings, P&IDs and loop sheets.

Dornan Engineering Group is aleading international engineering contractor delivering high-value projects across Europe, UK & Ireland. Based in Athlone, Co.Westmeath, this is an excitingopportunity to join our growing Dornan team as an Electrical Chargehands,supporting the delivery of our Pharmaceutical project.Due to thecontinuous growth with Dornan Engineering, we are currently looking looking to recruit experienced Electrical Chargehandsto join the company on exciting projects. Your day to day will include:

• Lead and coordinate electrical crews to ensure installation works are completed safely, correctly, and on schedule.
• Review drawings, method statements, and permits, providing guidance to the team and highlighting clashes or design issues to engineers and supervisors.
• Manage materials and equipment, ensuring timely ordering, tracking deliveries, and controlling use on-site to avoid delays.
• Drive safety performance, conducting toolbox talks, enforcing LOTO and SOPs, and ensuring all works meet site safety regulations and client requirements.

About you:

• Recognised electrical trade qualification (e.g., QQI Level 6 Electrical Craft Certificate) with a minimum of 1+ years' experience supervising electrical installation on large industrial or pharma projects.
• Strong understanding of GMP, ATEX, LOTO.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, P&IDs, loop sheets, and technical documentation.
• Demonstrated leadership and communication skills, capable of directing crews, coordinating subcontractors, and resolving on‑site technical issues effectively.
• Up‑to‑date safety certifications (Safe Pass, Manual Handling, MEWP, plus supervisor-level safety training) and a strong track record in driving a positive safety culture.
• Excellent communication and coordination skills
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced, milestone-driven environment
• Strong commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork
