Alternative Heat Ltd. in Dundalk is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to support data center projects.

You will develop electrical design drawings, select plant, and define cabling routes from concept through to tender, construction and completion. The role requires close collaboration with contracts managers and commissioning teams to optimise BMS controls, ensure health and safety compliance, and deliver build-ready designs.

Role Overview

Due to continued growth we are looking to add to a further Electrical Design Engineer to support the continued growth of our Data Center projects. This position offers an amazing opportunity for a candidate who wants to gain experience with a progressive and dynamic company.

What You’ll be Doing

The role involves preparing electrical design drawings, plant selections, cabling routes and installation specifications throughout all stages of a project, from concept through to tender, construction and completion. It also includes developing project-specific BMS control panel drawings and descriptions of operation, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and quality standards, and attending design meetings as required. The position requires close collaboration with contracts managers and commissioning teams to support the commissioning process and optimise BMS controls, alongside maintaining professional relationships with clients, suppliers, contractors and relevant authorities. Additional duties may be required as directed.
