Job summary

NRL in Dublin seeks an experienced Electrical Engineer to lead design for building systems on a 12-month contract. You will organize tasks with the project team, ensure design quality and compliance with IEC codes, and deliver construction documents.

You should have an honours degree in electrical engineering and at least five years of experience, with strong English communication and familiarity with BIM tools. This role is on-site in Dublin and offers exposure to world-class facilities.

  • Strong knowledge of IEC and local building/specialty codes.

Responsibilities

We’re looking for an experienced Electrical Engineer to join a leading engineering team in Dublin, Ireland, on a 12-month contract. Our client is a global engineering and project solutions leader, delivering innovative and sustainable designs across multiple sectors.

Responsibilities
  • Organise, assign, and delegate engineering and design tasks to deliver construction documents in collaboration with the project team.
  • Manage project scope, budget, and schedule to meet objectives.
  • Coordinate and collaborate in real time across disciplines for integrated designs.
  • Take responsible charge for electrical design accuracy, completeness, and quality.
  • Analyse and design advanced building systems, including:Medium and low-voltage power systemsLighting, grounding, and process heating systemsStandby generation and UPS systems for critical power needsConduct site selection and due diligence activities.Perform field-based activities, including construction observation.Review construction submittals for compliance with design intent and contract requirements.Mentor and guide project electrical engineers and designers as needed.
Requirements
  • Honours Degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years’ engineering design experience for building electrical systems.
  • Strong knowledge of IEC and local building/specialty codes.
  • Excellent English communication skills - written and spoken.
Nice-to-have Skills
  • 5 to 10 years’ experience in electrical design for buildings.
  • Extensive experience in semiconductor or advanced manufacturing facility design.
  • Knowledge of ATEX requirements.
  • Understanding of semiconductor tool install and data centre design.
  • Working knowledge of Revit or BIM software.
  • Experience with electrical design tools such as EasyPower, ETAP, or SKM Power Tools.
