Job summary

Harbour Hotel Galway City is seeking a proactive Duty Manager to join our management team. You will oversee day-to-day operations, lead front office, F&B and accommodation, and ensure guest experiences meet our high standards.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day hotel operations to ensure highest service standards.
• Support and supervise Front Office, Food & Beverage and Accommodation.
• Lead, motivate and support team members to deliver guest service excellence.
• Handle guest queries, feedback and complaints professionally.
• Ensure policies, procedures and health & safety standards are maintained.
• Collaborate with Hotel Manager and Operations Manager to meet objectives.
• Take responsibility for the hotel during assigned shifts, ensuring a safe, welcoming environment.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, motivated and experienced Duty Manager to join our management team at the Harbour Hotel Galway, part of the MHL Hotel Collection.

We are looking for a passionate hospitality professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, leads by example and is committed to delivering exceptional guest experiences.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the smooth day-to-day operation of the hotel, ensuring the highest standards of service.
• Support and supervise all operational departments, including Front Office, Food & Beverage and Accommodation.
• Lead, motivate and support team members to deliver excellent guest service.
• Handle guest queries, feedback and complaints in a professional and efficient manner.
• Ensure hotel policies, procedures and health & safety standards are consistently maintained.
• Work closely with the Hotel Manager and Operations Manager to achieve operational objectives.
• Take responsibility for the hotel during assigned shifts, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for guests and employees.

The Ideal Candidate

• Previous experience in a Duty Manager, Supervisor or similar leadership role within the hospitality industry.
• Excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.
• Strong leadership skills with a hands-on, proactive approach.
• A genuine passion for hospitality and delivering outstanding customer service.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and make confident decisions.
• Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends and public holidays.
• A positive attitude and a strong team-player mentality.
