Job summary

Windward Management in Ireland seeks a Duty Manager for McWilliam Park Hotel to maintain high service and safety standards across all departments. You will support operations, chair daily briefings, and ensure public areas and facilities run smoothly.

Ideal candidates have at least 2 years of management experience in a similar property, strong English communication, and a resilient, organized approach to work. Food & Beverage experience is a plus in this busy hospitality environment.

Qualifications

• 2 years of management experience in a similar sized property.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Excellent organisation and communication skills.
• Food and Beverage experience is an advantage.
• Strong commercial and business knowledge is an advantage.
• Resilient and capable of working under pressure is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all departments run to standard, and staff are on duty and informed of daily activities.
• Monitor hotel functions and review daily function sheets for changes.
• Chair the daily 11am meeting with HODs.
• Monitor public areas and coordinate with the accommodation team to keep them clean.
• Ensure car park and grounds are free of litter and obstructions.
• Ensure staff comply with standards across departments.
• Record, schedule and address maintenance issues in coordination with maintenance.
• Keep corridors and public areas free from trays and dirty glasses.
• Conduct a daily fire walk and enter reports in the Fire Register.

The Duty Manager’s key purpose is to ensure that guests in all areas of the hotel are receiving highest levels of service and safety at all times. The Duty Manager supports all departments, ensuring all departments are running smoothly at all times.

About McWilliam Park

The McWilliam Park Hotel is a Failte Ireland approved luxurious four-star hotel. The atmosphere is warm and friendly, making it a popular hotel for celebrating special occasions likeweddings or to enjoy a romantic break or family getaway.

The hotel boasts 103 comfortable large sizedhotelbedrooms, aleisure club(Evolve Health & Fitness) with a fully equipped gym, an indoorheated swimming pool and children’s pool.

Responsibilities:

• To ensure that each department is running to standard, all staff are on duty and informed of the daily business activities.
• To monitor hotel functions and review function sheet daily, noting any changes or amendments.
• To chair the daily 11am meeting that informs all HODs of the days’ business.
• To monitor and ensure that all public areas of the hotel are routinely cleaned; liaising and coordinating as necessary with accommodation team to achieve ensure this is actioned.
• To ensure the car park and grounds are kept free of litter and obstructions.
• To ensure that all staff in each department comply with all appropriate standards.
• To ensure that all maintenance issues are recorded, scheduled and addressed in a timely fashion, liaising and coordinating with maintenance in relation to all issues, reporting those you have addressed as well as those that require further actions.
• To ensure all corridors and public areas are kept free from trays and dirty glasses
• To conduct a daily fire walk while on duty, enter all reports in the Fire Register
