Job summary

The Hodson Bay Hotel is recruiting a Duty Manager to join our award-winning management team in Athlone. You will oversee daily operations, coach departments, and ensure top-tier guest service across all hotel functions.

This permanent role offers full or part-time hours, on-site work, and great training with senior leadership. Applicants with hospitality or business degrees, and a passion for customer care, are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• 3rd level qualification in a relevant field preferred.
• Excellent written and spoken levels of English.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• To carry out all management duties as per the agreed standards.
• To take control and responsibility for Management shifts.
• To oversee the smooth running of all departments.
• To assist with the management of all allocated functions & banquets in the hotel.
• To be responsible for day to day queries, complaints or problems that arise in the hotel.
• To ensure the highest level of customer care is practiced at all times.
• To assist with the training of employees where necessary.
• To be proactively involved with wedding enquiries while ensuring all relevant booking details are entered into the diary.
• To monitor the hotel functions book and familiarize yourself with all additions and changes.
• To liaise daily with the General Manager and Conference & Banqueting Manager to forecast Hotel business on a weekly basis and to plan accordingly.
• To coordinate with the Conference & Banqueting Manager in reference to weekly banqueting business.
• To attend the weekly heads of department meetings.
• To ensure that reasonable care is taken for the Health and Safety of yourself, other employees, guests and any other persons on the Hotel premises.

The Hodson Bay Hotel are excited to announce we are recruiting a Duty Manager to come and join our fantastic Management Team!

This is a great opportunity for someone who has a passion for hospitality and providing excellent customer service. This role will fast-track your career and gain exposure in a management capacity in one of Ireland's award-winning leading hotel groups.

Full training is provided for the successful candidate and you will be working alongside some of our finest Senior Management Team.

What will your typical day look like?

You will be fully trained in overseeing the smooth running of all departments daily and to liaise with all department heads regarding relevant details i.e. customer service, training, Health & Safety & maintenance.

• Previous management experience is desirable but not essential
• Previous Conference and Banqueting / Food & Beverage experience is desirable
• 3rd level qualification in a relevant field preferred
• Excellent written and spoken levels of English
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
