Job summary

Grant Thornton Ireland is seeking an FAAS Associate Director to lead the delivery of complex financial reporting engagements and guide technical accounting across multiple jurisdictions. You will work closely with Partners and senior leadership, mentoring a team of associates and supporting business development with multinational clients.

The role offers high visibility within a fast-growing FAAS function and opportunities to influence large-scale projects across EMEA, APAC and the Americas,

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant with ACA/ACCA/CPA or equivalent.
• 6+ years’ post-qualified experience in audit or financial reporting.
• Experience in a Top 20 firm or advisory environment preferred.
• Strong IFRS and/or US GAAP knowledge.
• Proven leadership and team-management experience.
• Excellent client relationship management and communication skills.
• Strong project management with ability to prioritise and meet deadlines.
• Commercial awareness with ability to deliver practical solutions.
• Experience with CaseWare and electronic audit packages is an advantage.
• High attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Self-motivated, independent and collaborative.

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery of complex financial reporting engagements and provide technical accounting guidance.
• Advise on group restructurings, acquisitions, consolidations, impairment, revenue recognition, and lease accounting.
• Oversee project planning, governance, and budgeting while ensuring quality.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships as a trusted advisor to finance leaders.
• Mentor, supervise, and develop a team of associates.
• Contribute to business development, proposals, and client presentations.
• Collaborate across service lines and international teams (EMEA, APAC, Americas).
• Ensure compliance with internal risk management frameworks and regulatory standards.
• Identify process improvements to enhance efficiency and client service.
