Job summary

Challenger Recruitment Specialists is assisting a dynamic Alternative Investment Fund Manager in appointing a Designated Person to own Investment Management oversight within its Irish platform.

The role sits at the centre of the investment oversight framework, collaborating with senior leadership in Ireland, the UK and across the group to strengthen governance and control. The successful candidate will lead due diligence, deliver Board-ready reports and support onboarding of new funds.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in economics or finance (preferred).
• 8+ years' experience in asset management, investment oversight or portfolio management.
• Strong understanding of investment processes; experience with alternative funds and asset classes preferred.
• Good knowledge of AIFMD and Irish regulatory framework.

Responsibilities

• Lead oversight of delegated investment management activities, ensuring alignment with fund strategy, risk parameters and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain ongoing due diligence and performance monitoring of Investment Managers with clear escalation of risks or breaches.
• Deliver structured, high-quality reporting to the Board across investment performance, governance and delegate oversight.
• Interface with delegated Portfolio Managers, providing regular engagement and challenge around investment activity, strategy, performance and risk.
• Support onboarding of new funds and broader platform expansion initiatives.
• Contribute to regulatory engagement, including MiFID top-up permissions and evolving operating model.
• Collaborate with other Designated Persons to deliver the Programme of Activity.
