We are seeking an experienced and highly organised Document Controller to join our project delivery team based in North Dublin. Working across multiple construction projects, you will be responsible for the management, control, distribution, and maintenance of project documentation, ensuring that all project records are accurate, up to date, and compliant with company procedures and statutory requirements.
The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting project teams by managing technical documentation, including drawings, material submittals, and BCAR documentation, ensuring information is efficiently tracked, controlled, and readily available throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Document Management
- Manage the document control system across multiple live construction projects.
- Receive, register, distribute and archive project documentation.
- Maintain accurate document registers for drawings, specifications, RFIs, technical submissions and project correspondence.
- Ensure all documentation is correctly version controlled.
- Monitor document workflows and ensure timely distribution to relevant stakeholders.
- Maintain electronic and hard copy filing systems where required.
Drawing Control
- Maintain drawing registers and revision histories.
- Issue drawings to site teams, consultants and subcontractors.
- Track drawing revisions and ensure superseded documents are removed from circulation.
- Coordinate with design teams to ensure current drawings are available at all times.
- Produce drawing status reports for project management.
- Collate, track and manage all material and technical submittals.
- Maintain material approval registers.
- Coordinate submissions between subcontractors, consultants and design teams.
- Monitor approval status and follow up on outstanding submissions.
- Ensure approved materials are correctly recorded and issued to site teams.
BCAR Documentation
- Manage all documentation associated with Building Control (Amendment) Regulations (BCAR).
- Maintain inspection plans and compliance documentation.
- Track ancillary certificates and inspection records.
- Ensure all BCAR documentation is accurately filed and readily available.
- Assist project teams in compiling handover documentation and final compliance records.
Project Support
- Support Project Managers, Site Managers and Engineers with document administration.
- Assist with project reporting and document status updates.
- Prepare project close-out documentation.
- Ensure document control procedures comply with company quality management systems.
Skills & Experience
- Previous experience as a Document Controller within the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of document control processes for main contractors.
- Experience managing drawing registers and revision control.
- Good understanding of material submittal processes.
- Proven experience collating and tracking material submittals.
- Experience managing BCAR documentation.
- Excellent organisational and administrative skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Experience using document management systems (e.g. Viewpoint, Asite, Autodesk Construction Cloud, Aconex, Procore, SharePoint or similar).
- Experience working with Irish main contractors.
- Familiarity with ISO Quality Management Systems.
- Knowledge of construction project handover procedures.
- Understanding of QA/QC documentation.

Qualifications
