Job summary

JPMorgan Chase & Co. in Dublin seeks a Director of Software Engineering within Workforce Experience Technology to lead a product-aligned engineering org building a secure, cloud-native Talent Performance platform serving the firm’s global employee base.

You will own technology direction and execution across multiple teams, drive modernization, and partner closely with HR Product, Experience Design, Risk/Controls, and senior stakeholders to deliver measurable outcomes.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and expert applied experience.
• Hands-on experience leading technologists to solve complex technical items.
• Experience with modern full-stack engineering (React/TypeScript) and enterprise design systems.
• Experience with large-scale graph databases (Neptune/Neo4J/TigerGraph).
• Cloud-native engineering with AWS or equivalent; SDLC automation; security and reliability.
• Backend/API expertise with Java/Spring Boot; GraphQL/REST design and governance.
• Security fundamentals: OAuth2/OIDC; data privacy; secure SDLC; audit/compliance.
• Ability to influence senior stakeholders; proven leadership and people development.
• Experience with agentic AI-enabled engineering practices and governance.

Responsibilities

• Set engineering vision and roadmap for Talent Performance platform.
• Lead multiple cross-functional engineering teams; org design, hiring, coaching.
• Drive platform architecture and modernization with cloud-native patterns.
• Own end-to-end delivery, production readiness, and incident management.
• Oversee integrations with HR systems, analytics, and external SaaS vendors.
• Establish engineering governance: secure coding, SDLC controls, KPI measurement.
• Partner with Product, UX, and HR to translate strategy into outcomes.
• Manage third-party vendor/platform relationships and accountability.
• Champion inclusive culture and responsible AI governance in engineering.
