Job summary

JPMorganChase is seeking a Director of Software Engineering to lead the Talent Performance platform within WxT. You will set technology direction, own end-to-end delivery, and partner with HR Product, UX, and Risk to drive measurable outcomes.

You will lead multiple cross-functional teams across cloud-native architectures, API design, and AI-enabled development, focusing on security, reliability, and governance while coaching engineers to innovate with integrity.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and leadership experience.
• Hands-on experience with modern full-stack engineering including React/TypeScript.
• Production implementation experience with large-scale graph databases (e.g. Neptune, Neo4J, TigerGraph).
• Familiarity with cloud-native engineering (AWS or equivalent) including reliability, security, cost management and SDLC automation.
• Backend and API expertise with Java/Spring Boot and strong GraphQL/REST API design and governance.

Responsibilities

• Set engineering vision and roadmap for the Talent Performance platform, balancing UX, time-to-market, reliability and control obligations.
• Lead multiple cross-functional engineering teams, including org design, hiring, coaching, performance management and succession planning.
• Drive platform architecture and modernization with cloud-native patterns and API/event strategy.
• Own end-to-end delivery and operations with production readiness, incident management, reliability/SLOs and observability.
