Job summary

St. Michael’s House, including The Open Training College, seeks a Programme Director for Social Care Management and Online programmes.

The role oversees day-to-day operations, development of programmes and quality assurance across disability and health-related education in the greater Dublin area. The successful candidate will have a L7/L8 degree in social care, a postgraduate management qualification, and at least five years in a management role in social care, with strong leadership and online

Qualifications

• A L7/L8 degree in social care or ‘sufficiently relevant area’ (must be CORU registered or eligible for registration & complete registration with 3 months of appointment)
• A postgraduate qualification in management or other relevant area OR currently studying for a relevant post graduate qualification (L9/10)
• A minimum of five years’ experience in a management role in a relevant area of social care
• Excellent people management skills and competencies
• Excellent organisational, team-working, and people skills
• Excellent online learning development and implementation skills (including the ability to work with Articulate and Moodle)
• Competence in information/data analysis, synthesis, summarising, and presentation including report writing
• Must be able to drive and have access to a car for work purposes.
• Qualification/experience in the areas of Educational Technology/Instructional Design
• Understanding /experience of accreditation system(s) and programmes particularly under Quality Qualifications Ireland (QQI)
• Understanding of education and training within a large organisation as a way to support staff development and attain organisational objectives and strategy
• An in-depth understanding of the Irish framework of qualifications (NFQ) and its linkage to other educational frameworks internationally
• Relevant experience of working in Quality Assurance in an academic setting
• Competence in the management and operation of Information Management

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day operations of the assigned Programme Director area
• Develop higher and/or further education provision in disability and health sectors
• Lead QA compliance and accreditation processes
• Oversee Open Training College programmes and online courses
• Collaborate with Open Training College team to deliver blended/online education
