Job summary

Unum Technology Centre in Carlow, Ireland seeks a Deskside Infrastructure Engineer to support desktop, endpoint, and workplace technologies. You will help ensure devices and enterprise systems remain secure, reliable, and available while contributing to automation and process improvements.

You will provide Level 2 support for Windows-based platforms, manage software deployments, patching, and lifecycle tasks, and collaborate with security and application teams to enhance IT services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or equivalent.
• 2+ years' experience supporting desktop, endpoint, infrastructure, or workplace tech.
• Experience with Windows environments and enterprise applications.
• Knowledge of endpoint management, software deployment, patching, and device lifecycle.
• Experience with monitoring and service-management tools.
• Familiarity with scripting or automation such as PowerShell or Bash.
• Strong troubleshooting and customer-focused communication.

Responsibilities

• Provide Level 2 support for desktop, endpoint, and workplace tech.
• Support Windows-based infrastructure, devices, and software deployment.
• Monitor performance, availability, and health across environments.
• Contribute to automation, runbooks, and documentation.
