Job summary

ICDS Group is seeking an experienced Design Manager for a major residential development in Dublin. You will lead the design team, coordinate architects, engineers and subcontractors, and ensure design deliverables align with programme requirements.

You will review drawings and technical submissions, manage RFIs and design changes, ensure compliance with building regulations, and work closely with Construction and Project Management teams to deliver a buildable solution.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent qualification in Construction, Engineering, Architecture or related discipline.
• 5+ years’ experience as Design Manager or in a similar role within construction.
• Strong track record on large-scale residential projects.
• Excellent knowledge of design coordination, process and technical standards.

Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate the design process from pre-construction through to delivery
• Lead the design team and coordinate architects, engineers, consultants and subcontractors
• Review and manage design information, ensuring it is delivered in line with programme requirements
• Coordinate design development and identify potential issues or clashes before they impact construction
• Manage RFIs, technical submissions, design changes and approvals
• Work closely with the Construction and Project Management teams to ensure designs are practical and buildable
• Ensure design information complies with relevant building regulations, standards and project requirements
• Review drawings, specifications and technical documentation
• Monitor design progress against the overall project programme
• Attend design coordination and project meetings
• Support the commercial and procurement teams where design input is required
• Maintain accurate design records and ensure information is properly managed throughout the project lifecycle

Our client is a leading construction company delivering major residential and mixed-use developments across Ireland. They are currently seeking an experienced Design Manager to join their team on a large-scale residential development in Dublin.

This is a major residential project comprising multiple apartment blocks and significant associated infrastructure, offering an excellent opportunity to take a key role in the design and delivery of a large, complex development.
