Job summary

GPC - Global Professional Consultants is seeking a Design Manager for a large-scale residential project in North Dublin. The role sits with a Tier 1 main contractor renowned for a strong project pipeline across Ireland, the UK and mainland Europe.

You will lead design submissions, coordinate with the design team, manage risk, and drive forward schedules and site updates to ensure clean handovers and on-time delivery.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering, Architecture, or related discipline.
• Design management experience with a main contractor or developer is ideal, though candidates from architectural practices or design firms with relevant skills will be considered.
• Background in residential projects; exceptional attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Report to the Design Director and manage submission/approval process for designs and materials.
• Proactively address design risks by collaborating with the Design Team to devise solutions.
• Create forward-looking project plans and schedules.
• Coordinate with project management teams to ensure smooth execution.
• Demonstrate strong scheduling and program management abilities.
• Participate in site meetings, providing updates on project progress.

Design Manager (Residential Projects)

A Tier 1 Main Building Contractor is seeking a Design Manager to join their team to work on a large-scale residential project in North Dublin. Our client has a robust project pipeline for their busiest year yet, delivering diverse developments nationwide, including with large scale resi projects and major datacentre projects in Ireland UK and Mainland Europe. We are looking for a Design Manager with who has worked on large Resi projects in Ireland or the UK previously and we will consider candidates coming from a design office.

Key Responsibilities

• Report to the Design Director Manage the submission and approval process for designs and materials, securing client approvals.
• Proactively address potential design risks by collaborating with the Design Team to devise solutions.
• Create forward-looking project plans.
• Coordinate with project management teams to ensure smooth execution.
