Job summary

Errigal is seeking a Design Lead to drive design activities from tender through to project close-out. You will coordinate between design, commercial, procurement, and operations to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to high quality standards.

This hands-on leadership role requires strong technical knowledge, commercial awareness, and the ability to manage people and processes effectively. You will lead design set-up, audits of BIM models, and cross-team coordination.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Design Lead / Senior Designer within the construction industry.
• Proficiency in BIM software - Revit, Navisworks.
• Strong understanding of design management processes, building regulations, and technical standards.
• Experience managing multidisciplinary design teams and coordinating with external consultants.
• Excellent organisational, leadership, and communication skills.
• Strong commercial awareness and ability to support procurement and cost control.
• Proficiency in project management tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead design set-up at project start, including drafting design deliverables and the TIDP.
• Familiarise with project scope, drawings, design intent, and construction programs.
• Attend pre-construction handover meetings.
• Ensure design deliverables are current and revised as scope changes.
• Monitor design progress against program and procurement schedules; flag risks.
• Provide solutions to design challenges, respond to RFIs, ensure compliance with regs.
• Audit BIM models for accuracy and consistency with project standards.
• Lead internal design reviews and ensure QA before client submission or upload to CDE.
• Coordinate with planning, buying, operations, and commercial teams for alignment on scope and budgets.
• Chair internal design meetings and participate in client design coordination meetings.
• Maintain communication with site teams and provide design support during installation.
