Job summary

Looking to build a career in modular construction design? A specialist design and construction contractor in Cork is seeking a dynamic, ambitious Design Technician to join its Design Team, with genuine scope to grow into a design and client management role as your skills develop.

The Role

Working alongside experienced professionals within the Design Team, you'll develop AutoCAD drawings and Revit models for modular fit-outs across data centre and pharmaceutical facilities. This is a genuine development role, as your skills and experience grow, so will your responsibilities, with a clear pathway toward managing design projects and client relationships of your own.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with senior members of the design team to develop AutoCAD drawings and Revit models for modular fit-outs in data centres and pharmaceutical facilities
• Assist with project management tasks, including client communication and coordination with other departments
• Support the design team in creating innovative solutions tailored to each project's requirements
• Conduct research and analysis to inform design decisions and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations
• Participate in team meetings, contributing ideas and insights to ongoing projects
• Take initiative in learning new skills and technologies related to design and construction
• Take on expanding responsibility for design project and client management as you develop

What We're Looking For

• A college degree related to design, engineering, architecture or a related field
• A demonstrated aptitude for detail and a strong understanding of design principles
• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g. AutoCAD, Revit) preferred, though not essential
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• Enthusiasm for learning and a willingness to take on new challenges
• A self-driven, 'can do' attitude and strong work ethic
