FRS Recruitment is looking for a compassionate and dedicated Deputy Person in Charge to join anew intellectual disability service based in Laois. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a new project in the intellectual disability sector. In your new role you will:
- Assist the Person in Charge as required, assuming responsibility for service oversight, leadership and decision-making during periods of absence.
- Support regulatory notifications, governance meetings, audits, inspections and follow-up action planning.
- Provide effective day-to-day leadership to staff teams, offering guidance, coaching and constructive feedback.
- Support staff development and ensure consistent, high-quality professional practice across the service.
- Promote a positive, accountable and collaborative team culture aligned with organisational values
- Participate in staff supervision, probationary reviews and appraisals, addressing performance issues in a professional and supportive manner.
- Support the development, implementation and ongoing review of Person-centred Support and Care Plans.
- Ensuring residents' will, preferences, rights and individual needs are central to service planning and delivery.
- Participate in an on-call Rota to ensure management oversight and continuity of care on a 24/7 basis.
To be a successful candidate you will have:
- A Level 8 in Social Care and CORU registration.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills, with the ability to adapt communication to the individual.
- Extensive experience maintaining a safe, hygienic and well‑managed residential environment in line with Health and Safety and risk‑management standards.
- Demonstrated ability to supervise, mentor and support staff teams, fostering a positive and professional culture.
- Experience designing and managing staff Rota across day, evening, and waking‑night shifts.
- Comprehensive understanding of HIQA regulations and experience working within a registered service, including involvement in inspections and quality‑improvement processes.
- Full clean driving licence.
