Job summary

Centra is seeking a motivated food production assistant to join our deli team in Ireland. Reporting to the Head Chef, you will cook, prep, and display fresh foods and help run the hot food department, including chicken fillet rolls and breakfast items.

You will ensure high standards of food safety, stock rotation, and cost control while delivering excellent customer service. The role requires 2 years experience in fresh food, HACCP trained, and a passion for creating tasty, quality offerings.

Qualifications

• 2 years' experience in a role with in-depth experience in fresh food and food preparation.
• Experience in achieving sales targets and KPIs.
• Fully trained in HACCP and food safety, and experienced in meeting HACCP requirements.
• Stocktaking experience.
• Passion for the food industry; creative and innovative with fresh offerings.
• Customer-focused; able to build a quality and loyal customer base.

Job description

Main purpose of the role:
Ensure the food production area operates efficiently and effectively at all times and provide our customers with excellent products.

The ideal candidate will have/be:

• 2 years` experience in a role with an indepth experiencein fresh food and food preparation
  
• Experience in successfully achieving sales targets and KPIs
  
• Fully trained in HACCP and food safety, and has experience in meeting the HACCP and food safety requirements
  
• Stocktaking experience
  
• Have a true passion for the food industry and be creative and innovative with the fresh offering
  
• Customer focused and can build a quality and loyal customer base
  

  Main duties:

• Carry out stock takes and support the working out of the cost price for product and portion control

• Attend any training or development programmes as directed by store management.

About the locality:

Reporting to the Head Chef, this is a full time position for someone who is a foodie and would like to develop more knowledge around hot food andpreparing dinner dishes in a deli/catering setting.

You will assist with the day to day running of the food preparation section(s) of the deli business

• Assist in the day to day operations of the food/chef role and help the chef with daily activities and duties
• Salad, soup and vegetable prep
• Help map out daily dinners and execute from start to finish
• Work alongside the chef when on together, but once fully trained you can operate the hot food department on quieter days where less dinner solutions are needed and the focus is on chicken fillet rolls & breakfast rolls etc. (eg. Sundays)
