Job summary

McKesson is seeking a Data Governance Senior Specialist to operationalize master data governance practices. You will work with Data Owners, Stewards, and stakeholders to establish governance frameworks, metadata, lineage, and controls that support analytics, automation, and regulatory compliance.

You will lead the design and implementation of governance processes, scorecards, and executive reporting, ensuring data assets remain trusted and fit for business use.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in Data Governance or related fields.
• Experience implementing governance frameworks, policies, standards, stewardship models, and accountability practices.
• Experience supporting metadata management, lineage management, reference data, business glossaries.
• Experience influencing business and technology stakeholders to drive governance adoption.

Responsibilities

• Lead implementation and continuous improvement of enterprise data-governance frameworks, policies, standards, operating procedures, stewardship practices, and accountability models.
• Establish governance processes to strengthen ownership and stewardship of critical data assets and facilitate governance councils and change activities.
• Define data-quality rules, thresholds, KPIs, scorecards, and executive reporting.
• Lead identification, triage, escalation, root-cause analysis, remediation tracking, and resolution of complex data-quality issues.
• Establish and maintain metadata, glossary, lineage, and documentation standards for critical data assets.
• Provide governance oversight for master data, ERP modernization, analytics, and AI initiatives.
• Conduct governance assessments and regulatory analysis in partnership with Compliance, Risk, Audit, Legal, and Technology teams.
• Develop strategic roadmaps and measurable improvements in data trust and maturity.
