What's the Opportunity?
This role offers the opportunity to work on the tendering and pre-construction phases of major power infrastructure, substation and grid connection projects across Ireland. Working alongside engineering, planning and procurement teams, you'll play a key role in developing accurate, competitive tenders that support the successful delivery of critical infrastructure projects.
What will I be doing?
- Prepare detailed and competitive cost estimates for civil, structural and architectural (CSA) works on power infrastructure projects.
- Review tender documentation, drawings and specifications to fully understand project scope and client requirements.
- Carry out quantity take-offs and develop Bills of Quantities
- Attend site visits to assess project conditions and identify potential construction constraints.
- Prepare and issue enquiries to suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing.
- Review and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations for technical compliance and commercial value.
- Work closely with engineering, planning and procurement teams throughout the tender process.
- Assist in developing tender programmes and pricing strategies for major infrastructure projects.
- Participate in pre-tender and post-tender meetings with internal stakeholders and clients where required.
- Support the handover of successful projects to the delivery team, ensuring a smooth transition from tender stage through to project execution.
What experience and skills do I need?
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in a CSA Estimating role.
- Previous experience estimating civil infrastructure projects.
- Strong ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications and contract documentation.
- Excellent commercial awareness with strong analytical and numerical skills.
- Experience preparing quantity take-offs and Bills of Quantities.
- Flexibility to travel for site visits, surveys and tender meetings as required.
