Job description

We are seeking an experienced CSA Engineer to join a growing engineering and project delivery team working on major data centre projects in Dublin.

This is an excellent opportunity for a construction-focused engineer to develop their career within the fast-growing data centre and mission-critical sector. You will be responsible for supporting the delivery of Civil, Structural and Architectural (CSA) works throughout the project lifecycle, from design coordination and pre-construction through construction, commissioning and final handover.

Working within a multidisciplinary project team, you will collaborate closely with MEP, BIM, QA/QC, commissioning, commercial, planning and project management teams to ensure CSA works are delivered safely, efficiently, to programme and in accordance with project requirements.

Key Responsibilities
Design Coordination & Pre-Construction
  • Review civil, structural and architectural drawings, specifications and design packages.
  • Coordinate CSA design information with MEP, BIM and external design teams.
  • Review designs for constructability, compliance and coordination with site requirements.
  • Raise, manage and close out RFIs, technical queries and design clarifications.
  • Coordinate interfaces between CSA works, MEP services, fire stopping, building envelope and underground services.
  • Participate in design coordination meetings, BIM reviews and clash detection workshops.
  • Support buildability reviews, construction sequencing and programme planning.
  • Assist in ensuring design information is complete, coordinated and suitable for construction.
Construction Delivery
  • Provide day-to-day engineering support for CSA works throughout the construction phase.
  • Monitor CSA activities to ensure works are delivered in accordance with approved drawings, specifications and programme requirements.
  • Coordinate with structural steel, concrete, architectural, façade and specialist subcontractors.
  • Monitor installation quality, workmanship and material compliance.
  • Carry out regular site inspections and identify issues requiring corrective action.
  • Work closely with MEP teams to manage interfaces and minimise clashes and delays.
  • Support the resolution of technical issues and construction queries.
  • Monitor design changes, variations and potential construction risks.
  • Proactively identify and resolve issues to minimise rework and programme impact.
  • Support temporary works reviews and coordination where required.
Quality & Compliance
  • Ensure CSA works comply with approved drawings, project specifications, relevant standards and client requirements.
  • Work closely with QA/QC teams to ensure inspection and testing requirements are met.
  • Review quality documentation, inspection records and technical submissions.
  • Assist with the identification and close-out of defects, snags and non-conformances.
  • Verify that materials and installations meet required technical and quality standards.
  • Support internal and project inspections throughout the construction lifecycle.
Commissioning & Handover
  • Support CSA activities through commissioning, completion and handover.
  • Review as-built drawings and subcontractor documentation.
  • Ensure redline drawings, test records, certificates and quality documentation are complete.
  • Assist with the preparation and review of project handover documentation.
  • Support the close-out of outstanding snags and defects.
  • Participate in lessons-learned and continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Architectural Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 3 years' relevant experience in CSA engineering, construction engineering or a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of civil, structural and architectural construction processes.
  • Experience working on large-scale commercial, industrial, pharmaceutical, mission-critical or data centre projects.
  • Strong ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications and technical documentation.
  • Experience coordinating subcontractors and multidisciplinary interfaces.
  • Good understanding of construction sequencing, buildability and site coordination.
  • Experience managing RFIs, technical queries and design changes.
  • Strong knowledge of construction quality requirements and inspection processes.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong organisational, analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced construction environment.
  • Willingness to work predominantly site-based in Dublin.
Desirable Experience
  • Previous experience on hyperscale or mission-critical data centre projects.
  • Experience working for a Tier 1 main contractor or major engineering contractor.
  • Familiarity with BIM coordination and clash detection.
  • Experience with BIM 360, Navisworks, Procore or similar digital construction platforms.
  • Knowledge of Irish and European construction standards.
  • Experience working alongside MEP engineering and commissioning teams.
  • Relevant professional membership or progression towards chartership.
What We're Looking For

We are looking for a technically capable and commercially aware engineer who can operate confidently within a busy construction environment.

You will be proactive, organised and comfortable coordinating multiple stakeholders while identifying and resolving technical issues before they impact programme, quality or cost.

Strong communication skills are essential, along with the confidence to challenge technical issues, coordinate subcontractors and design teams, and work collaboratively with project management, MEP, QA/QC and commissioning functions.
