CSA Engineer: Civil & Site Design for Pharma

Job summary

Arcadis is seeking a CSA Engineer in Cork to support civil, structural and architectural design services for pharma and industrial clients. You will work within a multidisciplinary team from concept through detailed design and construction, coordinating with architects and engineers to ensure compliant, timely delivery.

The role requires at least 8 years post-graduate experience in relevant sectors, and membership of a recognised professional body.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years post graduate experience in the Industrial, Pharmaceutical, Life Sciences and Bio-pharma sectors.
• Member of recognised professional body MIEI or MIStructE.
• In depth knowledge of Statutory Consent Processes, Building Regulations and BC(A)R process is essential.
• Demonstrable design, technical and construction knowledge is essential for this role.
• Strong detailing, design development and tender pack assembly experience.
• Experience in leading a design team and coordinating the other team members.
• Specialist experience in OSD, Filling suites, packaging area requirements, cleanroom layouts & laboratory design desirable with good knowledge of utility requirements.
• Strong working knowledge of civil design, structural design, and analysis software such as Revit, Tekla (or equivalent).

Responsibilities

• Interface with client design teams and project stakeholders as required.
• Support delivery of design scope within budget and schedule.
• Prepare engineering calculations, reports, specifications and design documentation.
• Design and coordinate urban drainage systems, roads, site infrastructure and underground services.
• Participate in technical, safety and compliance reviews.
• Coordinate design activities with other disciplines.
• Identify and communicate technical issues that may impact quality, cost or schedule.
• Attend and contribute to design and site meetings as required.
• Undertake site visits during construction and support resolution of technical queries.
• Work towards project schedules and target deadlines.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of departmental procedures, checklists and guidelines.
