Job summary

Wayflyer is seeking a senior Credit Strategy leader to own two pillars of policy and underwriting across our lending portfolio. You will design scalable frameworks, guide risk appetite, and collaborate with Engineering, Data Science, Finance, Legal and Revenue to drive compliant growth.

You will build AI-enabled underwriting architectures, develop scorecards, and incorporate new data sources while presenting clear trade-offs to senior leadership.

Qualifications

• 8–10+ years in credit risk, policy design, or risk governance.
• Experience building production-grade underwriting frameworks.
• Strong data-driven decision making and stakeholder collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Design, own, and improve credit policies and frameworks across segments.
• Turn risk appetite into measurable underwriting rules and limits.
• Design frameworks for new products and markets; participate in product development.
• Coordinate between Risk, Finance, Legal, and Revenue for compliant policies.
• Use loss data to keep policies current and present trade-offs to leadership.
• Rebuild underwriting processes to reduce friction and build playbooks.
• Create standardized risk scorecards with Decision Science and Engineering.
• Incorporate new data sources and run vendor evaluation end-to-end.
• Own override taxonomy and feedback loop to refine policy and scorecards.
• Build automated, AI-enabled underwriting architecture.
• Use AI-generated credit packs and memos with your judgement.
• Provide segment insights for monthly reporting to the Board with data team.
