Job summary

Sigmar Recruitment is seeking a Trade Counter specialist for a leading plumbing and heating supplier in Ireland, based in County Cavan. You will greet customers, process orders, prepare quotations, and support stock and showroom operations.

You’ll join a team that values service quality, accuracy, and a proactive approach. The role offers 38–45k salary, uncapped commission, pension, and comprehensive training as needed.

Responsibilities

• Serving customers professionally and efficiently at the trade counter.
• Processing customer orders, purchase orders, and handling sales enquiries.
• Preparing quotations and following up on customer requirements.
• Maintaining product knowledge across plumbing, heating, bathroom, and related products.
• Overseeing stock control, stock checks and inventory accuracy.
• Receiving deliveries, checking goods, picking, packing and preparing orders.
• Organising and keeping the warehouse, showroom, and counter clean and presentable.
• Assisting with deliveries and collections, stock replenishment, and daily branch ops.
• Collaborating with sales team and management to deliver excellent service.

About Your New Job on the trade counter

• Serving customers professionally and efficiently at the trade counter.
• Processing customer orders, purchase orders, and handling sales enquiries.
• Preparing quotations and following up on customer requirements.
• Maintaining product knowledge across plumbing, heating, bathroom, and related products (comprehensive training provided if required).
• Overseeing stock control, carrying out stock checks, and maintaining accurate inventory levels.
• Receiving deliveries, checking incoming goods, picking, packing, and preparing customer orders.
• Organising and keeping the warehouse, stock areas, showroom, and counter clean and presentable.
• Assisting with deliveries and collections as needed, helping with stock replenishment, and supporting general daily branch operations.
• Collaborating with the sales team and management to consistently deliver excellent customer service.

What Skills You Need

• Previous experience in plumbing/heating supplies, builders' merchants, or similar trade environments.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Good computer and order-processing abilities.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Positive, hardworking attitude, ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Full product knowledge is an advantage, but training will be provided to the right person.
