Job summary

SuperValu in Galway is seeking a fully qualified confectioner to head the confectionery department, ensuring the highest quality bakery items and outstanding customer service.

The ideal candidate will have a pastry qualification or at least 2 years of bakery experience, be creative, and able to embrace new recipes. You will engage with customers, pay close attention to detail, and work well in a fast-paced team to drive in-store initiatives.

Qualifications

• A recognised qualification in pastry and/or have at least 2 years experience in a bakery or quality focused restaurant or hotel.
• Creative and able to embrace new recipes.
• Ability to engage with and prioritise customer needs.
• Strong attention to detail, organised and flexible.
• Ability to use own initiative and work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

• Prepare and present the highest quality bakery items, desserts and pastries
• Be passionate about keeping up to date with the latest culinary trends and bring your ideas to the team

• Merchandise and present the department to the highest standard at all times and in accordance with relevant store planograms and guidelines;
• Adhere to weekly stocktaking and daily waste procedures in the Bakery
• Conduct quality and freshness checks
• Attend relevant training as required and implement learnings in store
