Job summary

Sense is hiring a Support Worker for our residential team in Louth. You will provide person-centred support to seven residents with complex needs, helping them live fulfilled lives with choice and independence.

The role is permanent with flexible hours from 7 to 37.5 per week, paid £13 per hour. A driving licence is desirable; access to a vehicle may be needed for early/late shifts due to public transport limits.

Qualifications

• No prior experience required; values and willingness to learn matter.
• Experience supporting disabled people with sensory conditions and complex needs is beneficial.
• Believes disabled people should have equal opportunities and autonomy.

Responsibilities

• Provide person-centred support reflecting individual needs, preferences and aspirations.
• Help people make informed choices and exercise greater daily control.
• Build meaningful relationships by understanding communication preferences and interests.
• Work with people to remove barriers to participation in everyday life.
• Support people to pursue interests, maintain relationships and engage with communities.
• Assist with appointments, activities and chosen trips/outings.
• Encourage independence while respecting individual support needs and decisions.
• Collaborate with colleagues, families and others to ensure consistency, dignity and wellbeing.
