Job summary

Irish Wheelchair Association is seeking committed Healthcare Assistants (Personal Assistants) for the North East area, covering Dundalk, Drogheda, Ardee & Surrounding Areas, and Summerhill & Enfield Area. Positions: 20 hours per week, Monday to Friday with every 2nd weekend.

Salary ranges €16.52–€18.39 per hour, with higher rates before 8am/after 8pm (€20.65), Sundays (€24.78) and Public Holidays (€33.04). A range of benefits and training is offered.

Qualifications

• QQI Level 5 Major Award in Community & Health Services, Health Service Skills or Healthcare Support (essential).
• Experience of working with people in a caring role (essential).
• Be reliable, trustworthy, and always maintain confidentiality.
• Demonstrate excellent communication skills with a good level of spoken and written English.
• Access to your own car and full driving licence (essential).
• Willing to drive member's vehicle (desirable).

Responsibilities

• Enable Members to achieve maximum independence in daily living by providing personal care, domestic assistance, social/educational support, travel and companionship.
• Role takes place in Members' homes and communities.
• Liaise with Home carers and coordinate with ALS Coordinator/Scheduling staff.
