Job summary

Rehab Enterprises Limited is seeking a Community Support Worker in Tralee, Co Kerry, on a fixed-term 6-month contract (39 hours per week). You will deliver individualised community support for people with disabilities, helping them engage in social, educational and recreational activities.

The role involves 1:1 support and group work, with an emphasis on inclusion and accessible local programs. A QQI Level 5 in Social Care and a full clean driving licence are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of QQI Level 5 in Social Care or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, implement, monitor and review educational, recreational and occupational programs in the community.
• Ensure best practice aligned with up-to-date research for Quality of Life improvements.
• Liaise with families, the multidisciplinary team and community personnel to enable accessible activities for service users.

Community Support Worker

Fixed Term Contract 6 months, 39 hours

Job Purpose

To assist in the delivery of individualized community support to a number of individuals with intellectual, physical and mental health challenges. Supporting individuals to be valued members of their local communities. Supporting individuals to optimize their emotional, social, occupational and learning experiences, through programmes offered within community. This role will also involve providing 1:1 support to an individual with social activities as well as working with groups in the community.

What We’re Looking For

• Minimum of QQI Level 5 in Social Care, or equal
• Full Clean Drivers Licence
• Experience in the area of supporting individuals with intellectual, physical and mental health challenges.
• Knowledge and experience of local community resources is highly desirable.

Your Responsibilities

• To plan, develop, implement, monitor and review appropriate educational, recreational and occupational programs within the community
• To ensure best practice in line with up to date research regarding Quality of Life improvements.
• To liaise with families, the multidisciplinary team and key community based personnel in the pursuit of accessible community activities for service users.

Salary

Salary starting from point 1 €31,561.56 to point 11 €43,761.06 Pro Rata and is subject to negotiation depending on experience and qualification.
