Job summary

The Rehab Group is hiring a Community Support Worker for a fixed-term 6-month contract (39 hours per week) at Manor West Hub, Tralee, Co Kerry, Ireland. You will deliver individualized support to people with intellectual, physical and mental health challenges to help them engage with local communities.

Key duties include planning and delivering educational, recreational and occupational activities, collaborating with families and the multidisciplinary team, and promoting Quality of Life

Qualifications

• Minimum QQI Level 5 in Social Care or equivalent.
• Full clean driver’s licence.
• Experience supporting individuals with intellectual, physical and mental health challenges.
• Knowledge of local community resources is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, implement, monitor and review educational, recreational and occupational programs in the community.
• Ensure best practice aligned with up-to-date research on Quality of Life improvements.
• Liaise with families, the multidisciplinary team and community personnel to enable accessible activities.

Skills

Community Support Worker

Fixed Term Contract 6 months, 39 hours

To assist in the delivery of individualized community support to a number of individuals with intellectual, physical and mental health challenges. Supporting individuals to be valued members of their local communities. Supporting individuals to optimize their emotional, social, occupational and learning experiences, through programmes offered within community. This role will also involve providing 1:1 support to an individual with social activities as well as working with groups in the community.

What we’re looking for:

• Minimum of QQI Level 5 in Social Care, or equivalent
• Full Clean Drivers Licence
• Experience in the area of supporting individuals with intellectual, physical and mental health challenges.
• Knowledge and experience of local community resources is highly desirable

Your Responsibilities

• To plan, develop, implement, monitor and review appropriate educational, recreational and occupational programs within the community
• To ensure best practice in line with up to date research regarding Quality of Life improvements.
• To liaise with families, the multidisciplinary team and key community based personnel in the pursuit of accessible community activities for service users.

Closing Date: Wednesday, 4th November 2026

Salary starting from point 1 €31,561.56 to point 11 €43,761.06 Pro Rata and subject to negotiation depending on experience and qualification.
