Job summary

The Rehab Group is an independent voluntary organisation providing services for people with disabilities and their families. We are seeking a Community Support Worker in Arklow to deliver individualized support and 1:1 and group activities within the local community.

The role requires QQI Level 5 in Social Care, a full clean driving licence and experience supporting individuals with diverse needs. Fixed-term part-time contract, salary €15.56–€17.74 per hour, with progression up to €21.56 per

Qualifications

  • Minimum QQI Level 5 in Social Care or equivalent.
  • Full Clean Driving Licence is required.
  • Experience supporting individuals with intellectual, physical and mental health challenges.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, develop, implement and review community education, recreation and occupation programs.
  • Ensure best practice aligned with current QoL research and evidence.
  • Liaise with families, the multidisciplinary team and community personnel to enable accessible activities.

Job Purpose

To assist in the delivery of individualized community support to a number of individuals with intellectual, physical and mental health challenges. Supporting individuals to be valued members of their local communities. Supporting individuals to optimize their emotional, social, occupational and learning experiences, through programmes offered within community. This role will also involve providing 1:1 support to an individual with social activities as well as working with groups in the community.

What we’re looking for:
  • Minimum of QQI Level 5 in Social Care, or equivalent
  • Full Clean Driving Licence
  • Experience in the area of supporting individuals with intellectual, physical and mental health challenges.
  • Knowledge and experience of local community resources is highly desirable
Your Responsibilities
  • To plan, develop, implement, monitor and review appropriate educational, recreational and occupational programs within the community
  • To ensure best practice in line with up to date research regarding Quality of Life improvements.
  • To liaise with families, the multidisciplinary team and key community based personnel in the pursuit of accessible community activities for service users.

We offer a competitive starting salary of €15.56–€17.74 per hour (Points 1–5 of the scale), based on qualifications and experience. The 12-point salary scale provides annual progression opportunities up to €21.56 per hour.
