Job summary

Bluebird Care Ireland in Cork City & Suburbs seeks a Registered Nurse to deliver high-quality, child-centered community nursing for kids with complex needs. You will work within a nurse-led team with families as partners in care, following each child’s care plan to ensure safety and comfort.

Requirements include NMBI registration, residency in Ireland, paediatric/homecare experience, and driving licence desirable. Schedule is 2 days weekly 8am-4pm with potential extra hours.

Qualifications

• Paediatric care experience essential.
• Homecare experience essential.
• Must hold NMBI registration.
• Tracheostomy training not required but listed as desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide evidence-based nursing care per each child’s care plan; prioritise comfort and safety.
• Support children with complex needs in the community and assist families as partners in care.
• Work within nurse-led teams under the Nursing Operations Manager.
• Maintain up-to-date NMBI registration and showcase strong communication skills.

Schedule

• x2 Days a Week - 8am to 4pm
• Additional Working Hours may be available

Responsibilities

• Provide evidence-based nursing care in line with each child's care plan, prioritising their needs, comfort, and safety.
• Support children with complex care needs in the community while also assisting their families as key partners in care.
• Work as part of nurse-led care teams under the supervision of the Nursing Operations Manager.
• Maintain current NMBI registration, demonstrate strong communication skills, and ideally bring experience with children/young people.
• Show kindness, compassion, and respect, recognising and safeguarding each child as an individual.

Requirements

• Registered Nurse on live register of NMBI
• Residence in the Republic of Ireland is essential
• Paediatric experience desirable
• Homecare experience necessary
• Tracheostomy training required, refresher training can be provided
• Patient Moving and Manual Handling
• A full Irish/EU driver's licence is desirable
