Job summary

Bluebird Care Dublin West is seeking qualified Paediatric Nurses for a Dublin 15 home-based care package, with five 8-hour night shifts per week. Roles include one-to-one nursing in the family home for a baby with complex needs.

The successful nurse will work within a nurse-led team, with local clinical management support, and may take part in two or more consistent shifts as part of the rota. Hourly rates from €35–€70 depending on day, night, and bank holidays.

Qualifications

• NMBI registration to practice as an RCN or RGN.
• Paediatric nursing experience or paediatric exposure in general nursing.
• Experience with complex-care interventions is desirable.
• Sound medication-management practice and clinical judgement.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, high-quality, one-to-one nursing care in the family home.
• Care for a baby with complex needs, supporting development and comfort.
• Maintain accurate care records and handover, following care plans.
• Liaise with family and Bluebird Care clinical team and health professionals.

Bluebird Care is currently seeking Paediatric Nurses or Registered General Nurses with paediatric experience for a care package based in Dublin 15 area.

Location: Dublin, 15.

Hours available : 5 × 8-hour night shifts per week (40 hours across the package)

Availability: Monday–Friday; applicants may apply for part of the weekly rota

Employment: Part-time or full-time, subject to agreed rota

Reporting/support: Nurse-led team with local clinical management support

Five regular 8-hour night shifts are available each week in Dublin 15. We welcome applications from Paediatric Nurses and Registered General Nurses with relevant paediatric experience—including nurses who can commit to two or more consistent shifts rather than the full rota.

Hourly Night Rates:

• Monday – Saturday: €35 per hour
• Sunday: €50 per hour
• Bank Holidays: €70 per hour

The Role:

You will provide safe, high-quality, one-to-one nursing care to a baby with complex care needs in the family home, supporting comfort, development, dignity and the family’s established routine.

The successful nurse will provide nursing support in the home environment and may be involved in:

• Care of the VP shunt
• Neurological care/observation
• Symptom Management (Cerebral irritability/Dystonia)
• Ongoing clinical observation and escalation\
• Accurate care records and handover
• Working to the individualised care plan
• Liaising with the family, Bluebird Care clinical team and relevant health professionals

What you will need:

• Current NMBI registration as an RCN or RGN
• Paediatric nursing experience, or strong general nursing experience with paediatric exposure
• Experience with complex‑care interventions is desirable
• Sound medication‑management practice and clinical judgement
• Strong communication, reliability and a child- and family-centred approach
• Legal right to work in Ireland; sponsorship is not available
