Job summary

Saint John of God Kerry Day Services is expanding its Community Access Facilitator team across the Kerry region. You will support adults with intellectual disabilities in employment, education, independent living and community participation, using person-centred planning and engaging activities.

Join a values-driven team focused on empowerment and inclusion, with flexible hours including evenings and overnight shifts, and opportunities for training and development.

Qualifications

• Minimum QQI Level 6 in Social Care or closely related field.
• Experience with adults with intellectual disabilities is advantageous.
• Warm, energetic and creative approach to supporting adults reach their potential.
• Flexibility to work across varied locations in Kerry is required.
• Successful candidates will be required to work flexible hours, including evening & overnight support.
• Experience in the development and delivery of training and education programme (e.g. QQI) advantageous.
• Ability to break tasks into manageable steps and teach skills using clear, supportive methods.

This role aligns with the principles of New Directions National Standards for Services and Supports for Adults with Disabilities and offers the chance to work in true partnership with individuals and their communities.

What We’re Looking For:

• Minimum Level 6 qualification (QQI) in Social Care, Disability Studies, Adult Education, Applied Social Studies or a closely related field
• Experience working with adults with intellectual disabilities advantageous
• Warm, energetic and creative approach to supporting adults reach their potential and fulfil their ambitions.
• Flexibility to work across varied locations in Kerry is required
• Successful candidates will be required to work flexible hours, including evening & overnight support
• Experience in the development and delivery of training and education programme (e.g. QQI) advantageous
• Ability to break tasks into manageable steps and teach skills using clear, supportive methods
• Problem-solving and adaptability when supporting individuals with changing and/or evolving needs
• Capacity to work independently and as part of a team
• Experience of supporting individuals with technology-based life skills
• Strong IT and report-writing skills
• Excellent communication, teamwork and organisational skills
• Full clean manual driver's licence is required
