Job summary

MICAS FOOD LIMITED based at 1, The Dale, Whitefield Hall, Co. Meath, is seeking a skilled Commis Chef to join the Yo Sushi Kiosk team in Co Louth.

You will be responsible for daily food preparation, maintaining high hygiene standards, and ensuring all dishes meet quality and presentation standards. You should have a minimum of two years’ experience, HACCP training, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of HACCP training.
• 2 years’ experience as a Commis Chef or in a similar role.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask.
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Excellent teamwork, communication, and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare daily food items in accordance with HACCP quality and safety standards.
• Plans menus, prepares, seasons and cooks foodstuffs or oversees their preparation and monitors the quality of finished dishes.
• Supervises, organises and instructs kitchen staff and manages the whole kitchen or an area of the kitchen.
• Ensures relevant hygiene and health and safety standards are maintained within the kitchen.
• Plans and co-ordinates kitchen work such as fetching, clearing and cleaning of equipment and utensils.
• Minimise food wastage and manage kitchen stock efficiently.
• Estimate daily production needs and manage stock levels responsibly.
• Foster a positive and creative working environment with a focus on continuous improvement.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for daily food preparation, maintaining high hygiene standards, and ensuring that all dishes leaving the kitchen meet agreed quality and presentation standards.
