Job summary

John Paul Construction is expanding in Dublin and seeks a Commercial Manager to lead contract administration, valuations, and subcontract management. The role emphasizes collaboration with procurement, planning, and estimating teams to ensure robust cash flow and project governance.

The successful candidate will bring 10+ years in construction, chartership progress with the SCS, and strong communication skills to lead surveyors and project teams on residential and commercial works.

Qualifications

• 10+ years' experience in construction, preferably with a main contractor.
• Project experience in construction/civil engineering (residential and commercial).
• Chartered or working towards chartership with the SCS.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare valuations, applications for payment, and cost reconciliations.
• Provide information to support cash flow and contract positions.
• In conjunction with Procurement, place sub-contracts under their control.
• Examine contract documents and highlight anomalies.
• Prepare and agree interim and final valuation dates with client representatives.
• Prepare take-offs for estimates and planning.
• Prepare final accounts for completed sections and submit to client representatives.
• Record contractual delays and keep detailed records.
• Manage and coach contract surveyors and junior staff.
