Job summary

Qualifications

• Qualified in machining or manufacturing, or equivalent experience.
• Experience in precision engineering or CNC manufacturing desirable.
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and ensure quality of work.

Responsibilities

• Program, set, prove out and optimise FANUC sliding head and fixed head CNC machines to produce precision components to specification.
• Collaborate with supervisors, quality personnel, and operators to meet production targets, support continuous improvement, and maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Perform first-off inspection and ongoing monitoring of the process to ensure components meet tight tolerances.
• Support operator training and provide technical guidance where required.
• Complete all production documentation and maintain accurate records.
• Commitment to health, safety, and quality standards, including working within ISO-certified systems.

The Role

• This is a full-time CNC Setter/Programmer role. The CNC Setter/Programmer will be responsible for programming, setting, proving out and optimising FANUC controlled sliding head and fixed head CNC machines to produce precision components to specification.
• The CNC Setter/Programmer will collaborate with supervisors, quality personnel, and operators to meet production targets, support continuous improvement, and maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Perform first-off inspection and ongoing monitoring of the process to ensure components meet strict quality standards and tight tolerances.
• Support operator training and provide technical guidance where required.
• Complete all associated production documentation and maintain accurate records.
• Commitment to health, safety, and quality standards, including working within ISO-certified systems.

The Requirements

• Relevant technical qualification or apprenticeship in machining, manufacturing, or mechanical engineering (or equivalent experience)
• Previous experience in a precision engineering or CNC manufacturing environment is highly desirable.
• Strong practical fault finding and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and take responsibility for the quality of completed work.
