Job summary

T & T Precision Ltd. in Cork is seeking a Tool Setter / CNC Machine Operator to join our manufacturing team. You will set up, adjust and run CNC machines, ensuring precise tooling changes and high-quality output.

Responsibilities include reading drawings, performing first-off inspections, supporting maintenance, and contributing to continuous improvement. On-site role with a competitive annual salary.

Qualifications

• Experience operating CNC machines or production equipment.
• Ability to install and replace tooling and fixtures.

• Knowledge of setup, process optimization and QC procedures.

Job title: Tool Setter / CNC Machine Operator

Annual Salary: €36,605 for 39 hours a week;

Weekly hours: 39 hours per week

Key Responsibilities

• Set up, prepare and adjust CNC and production machinery for manufacturing operations, ensuring optimal machine performance and product quality.
• Install, change and align tooling, fixtures and machine components for production runs and product changeovers.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications and work instructions to ensure precise machine setup.
• Monitor machine performance and production output, making adjustments as required to maintain efficiency and quality standards.
• Perform first-off inspections, in-process dimensional checks and quality verification of manufactured components.
• Support preventative maintenance activities, machine cleaning and tooling preparation in accordance with maintenance schedules.
• Identify tooling, machine or process issues and escalation major repairs or technical concerns to engineering personnel.
• Carry out minor machine repairs, adjustments and troubleshooting to minimise downtime.
• Maintain production, engineering, quality and GMP records accurately and in a timely manner.
• Assist with commissioning, testing and setup of tooling for new products and production processes.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, quality and operational efficiency.
• Follow all Health & Safety, environmental and company procedures while maintaining a clean, organised and safe work area.
• Support training activities and share technical knowledge with team members where required.
• Contribute to shift handovers and communicate machine performance, production issues and quality concerns effectively.

Requirements

• Experience operating and setting CNC machines, production machinery or manufacturing equipment.
• Ability to install, adjust and replace tooling, fixtures and machine components.
• Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Knowledge of machine setup, process optimisation and quality inspection procedures.
• Familiarity with measuring equipment and dimensional quality control techniques.
• Understanding of preventative maintenance principles and basic machine troubleshooting.
• Strong awareness of Health & Safety and manufacturing quality standards.
• Good communication, problem-solving and teamwork skills.
• Machining, mechanical or manufacturing-related qualification desirable.
• Experience in CNC programming or machining operations would be highly advantageous.
