Job summary

Qualifications

• A recognised General Nursing qualification.
• NMBI Registered.
• Minimum of three years experience in care planning and delivery in elderly care.
• Continuous Professional Development.
• Proven track record in team management and performance management.
• Strong initiative and a can-do attitude.
• Ability to prioritise work and meet deadlines.
• Committed to promoting and maintaining high work standards.

Responsibilities

• Assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating nursing care.
• Managing, supervising, supporting, training and leading the care team within the assigned department.
• Planning and allocation of nursing teams with appropriate staff members, skill mix and levels of experience to meet the clinical demands and the continuity of care.
• Lead by example and demonstrate a strong ‘team ethos’ being positive and motivational at all times.
• Management of medication in compliance with An Bord Altrnais regulations, nursing home regulations and HIQA standards.
• Management of KPIs for the assigned department.
• Providing Palliative Care to residents.
• Encouraging, training and guiding team while maintaining a happy environment.
• Providing guidance and advice to all junior nursing and caring staff
