Job summary

Intact Insurance Ireland DAC is seeking a Claims Investigator to assess injury claims across employers' liability, public liability and motor liability. You will determine fault and support claims handlers and defence solicitors with detailed investigation reports.

You will use negotiation and analytical skills to deliver timely decisions, maintain quality audits of external providers, and contribute to business objectives while working in a hybrid Dublin office.

Qualifications

• APA/CIP qualification is required.
• 2–3 years' experience in a similar or relevant role.
• Full Clean Driving Licence; company car provided.
• Overnight stays may be necessary.
• Effective communication and strong negotiation skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

• Undertaking audits of Panel Investigators & external Claim Handling Providers.
• Preparing and delivering case decisions and solutions to Intact Insurance customers.
• Undertaking claims investigation and settlement negotiations for preferred clients.
• Providing precautionary and post-event advice to minimise future claims.
• Maintaining account profitability through technical expertise for claims.
• Acting as a point of referral to colleagues and customers.

Job description

Claims Investigator

Claims Investigator role involves evaluating all types of injury claims. You will spend your time establishing where the fault lies in employers' liability, public liability and motor liability.

You will spend the majority of your time investigating accidents Employers, Public and Motor with our policyholder's providing decision on legal liability.

You will enjoy using your strong investigative, negotiation, analytical, relationship management and decision-making skills to deliver an effective and efficient service to support delivery of business objectives. You will provide quality investigation reports to our claims handlers and Defence Solicitors.

Key Responsibilities

• The provision of the most effective and efficient investigation, negotiation and settlement service for claims.
• Undertaking audits of Panel Investigators & external Claim Handling Providers to ensure quality service
• Preparing and delivering case decisions and solutions to Intact Insurance customers, in line with agreed processes at designated level authority to preferred clients
• Undertaking claims investigation and settlement negotiations for preferred clients
• Providing precautionary and post-event advice and guidance to preferred Intact Insurance customers to minimise future claims and mitigate the impact of current claims.
• The profitable maintenance of account through the provision of technical expertise for claims in order to meet the business objectives/ targets.
• Acting as a point of referral to colleagues and customers, providing expert advice and guidance.
