Job summary

Intact Insurance Ireland is seeking a Claims Investigator to evaluate injury claims across Employers' Liability, Public Liability and Motor liability. You will determine fault and deliver quality investigation reports to claims handlers and defence solicitors.

Based in Ireland with hybrid working options, you will use your analytical, negotiation and communication skills to support business objectives, with occasional overnight travel as required.

Qualifications

• APA/CIP qualification required.
• 2-3 years' experience in a similar role.
• Full Clean Drivers Licence (company car provided).
• Overnight stays may be necessary.
• Effective communication skills.
• Strong negotiation skills.
• Good verbal & written communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

Responsibilities

• Provide effective investigation, negotiation and settlement service for claims.
• Undertake audits of Panel Investigators & external Claim Handling Providers.
• Prepare and deliver case decisions and solutions to Intact Insurance customers and Defence Solicitors.
• Undertake claims investigation and settlement negotiations for preferred clients.
• Provide precautionary and post-event guidance to minimise future claims.

Job description

Claims Investigator role involves evaluating all types of injury claims. You will spend your time establishing where the fault lies in employers' liability, public liability and motor liability.

You will spend the majority of your time investigating accidents Employers, Public and Motor with our policyholder's providing decision on legal liability.

You will enjoy using your strong investigative, negotiation, analytical, relationship management and decision‑making skills to deliver an effective and efficient service to support delivery of business objectives. You will provide quality investigation reports to our claims handlers and Defence Solicitors.

Key Responsibilities

• The provision of the most effective and efficient investigation, negotiation and settlement service for claims.
• Undertaking audits of Panel Investigators & external Claim Handling Providers to ensure quality service
• Preparing and delivering case decisions and solutions to Intact Insurance customers, in line with agreed processes at designated level authority to preferred clients
• Undertaking claims investigation and settlement negotiations for preferred clients
• Providing precautionary and post‑event advice and guidance to preferred Intact Insurance customers to minimise future claims and mitigate the impact of current claims.
• The profitable maintenance of account through the provision of technical expertise for claims in order to meet the business objectives/ targets.
• Acting as a point of referral to colleagues and customers, providing expert advice and guidance.
