Responsibilities

  • Oversee on-site construction, manage contractor performance, and ensure compliance with marine civil standards.
  • Supervise site-based marine construction activities including port infrastructure, jetties, quay walls, piling and coastal defences.
  • Provide supervision and contract administration of marine and coastal projects in the field.
  • Ensure civil and marine construction aligns with design intent, Employer Requirements and regulatory permits.
  • Monitor construction progress and methods for safety, legal and regulatory compliance.

Job description

MWP are looking for a Senior RE Marine and Coastal Engineer to work at Dublin Port.We are an established multi-disciplinary engineering and environmental consultancy with offices in Cork, Limerick, Tralee, Galway and London.This role will suit a candidate with 10 years plus, postgraduate experience, who will be rewarded with an attractive remuneration package, and the opportunity to work on challenging and varied projects, within a close-knit team of engaging individuals.

Role:
  • The overseeing of on-site construction, manage contractor performance, and ensure compliance with marine civil engineering standards.
  • Overseeing site based marine construction activities including port infrastructure, jetties, quay walls, pilling and coastal defences.
  • The Supervision and Contract Administration of Marine and Costal projects in the field.
  • Ensuring that all civil and marine construction is in accordance design intent, Employer Requirements, Contractual documentation/Specifications and Regulatory Permits (Planning Permissions, EIAR, Foreshore Licences, Dredging Licences etc).
  • Monitoring construction progress and methodologies to ensure that they comply with relevant safety, legal, and regulatory requirements.
Requirements:
  • Excellent knowledge and strong technical ability in all aspects of civil engineering works, particularly heavy marine civil engineering and project management.
  • Level 8 degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
  • Experience in the field of marine civil engineering, piling, deep excavations, marine outfalls, marine civil structures, or similar works is essential.
  • Working knowledge of BS 6349, Eurocodes and related marine guidance documentation.
  • Attention to detail and ability to comply with Quality Assurance Management Systems.
  • Experience of client and contractor interaction and engagement.
  • Proactive, a good communicator with the ability to lead a team, and work well with others in a multi-disciplinary project team.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, and excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Has a willingness, and ability, to contribute to business development and the growth of the business.
  • Full Clean Driving Licence
