Job summary

CoAction West Cork provides essential services to support children and adults with intellectual disability and autism in Castletownbere. The role of Support Worker is permanent, part-time (13.75 hours per week), with base at Castletownbere Adult Services Centre and/or Group Home.

You will work under the supervision of the Community Access Facilitator/Social Care Leader to plan, deliver and review meaningful programmes, supporting personal care and promoting independence.

Qualifications

• QQI (FETAC) level 5 in Healthcare or equivalent.
• Full Clean Irish Driving Licence for manual vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Deliver programmes and assist in planning and reviewing activities.
• Support personal care needs including clothing, feeding, toileting and hygiene.
• Maintain dignity and respect for service users at all times.
• Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team within the ethos of the organisation.
• Report accidents and incidents promptly.
• Assist in recreational activities and outings as required.
