Job summary

Platform Engineering seeks a Head of Research & Editorial to lead Weave Intelligence and own the industry thesis on platform engineering, internal developer platforms, and the agentic enterprise. You will publish under your byline, guide a research agenda, and oversee a team producing reports, guides, and video content for a global audience.

You’ll sit on the analyst desk at major events, defend methodology, and ensure every piece is clearly labeled as sponsor-neutral or sponsored.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in roles shaping a technology market with evidence-backed statements.
• Depth in platform engineering, developer tooling, cloud infra or AI adoption in software development.
• A body of work published under your own name with defensible industry insights.
• Strong narrative judgment: distinguish topics from theses and timely value.
• Editorial rigor: managed methodology, sourcing and fact-checking with high impact.
• Experience leading a small team of writers, researchers or producers.

Responsibilities

• Own the house thesis on platform engineering and the agentic enterprise; keep ahead of the market.
• Run a quarterly theme calendar aligning reports, articles, webinars, courses and video.
• Balance new thought leadership and rapid-response analysis with market discussion.
• Lead the Weave Intelligence practice: agenda, standards, editorial ownership of key reports and guides.
• Publish under your own name; represent Weave at events and industry forums.
• Convert vendor/enterprise briefings into a structured vendor landscape view for our architecture.
• Lead and develop the content team and collaborate with media and analyst partners.
• Build relationships with other media houses and analyst firms for co-published formats.
• Shape public positioning with founders to elevate the strongest ideas.
