Job summary

Meubles Cafe, Kilkenny, is recruiting a full-time Chef for a busy café located in the Kilkenny Retail Park. The role runs 5 days over 7 with daytime hours from 9am to 5pm, including some weekends and bank holidays. Competitive salary and benefits apply.

The ideal candidate will have experience in a fast-paced environment, outstanding food hygiene practices, and the ability to develop menus using seasonal ingredients. HACCP and FSAI compliance is essential.

• Experience preparing, cooking and serving food for a café.

Responsibilities

• Menu development to include seasonality and freshness as key drivers of business.
• Preparing, cooking and serving food for a busy café for breakfast and lunch.
• Work closely with Deli chef and café team to ensure smooth day to day operations.
• Preparing all food in accordance with HACCP and FSAI regulations.
• Forecasting food requirements and placing orders with suppliers.
• Controlling and documenting all food waste.
• Menu development with the cafe manager and deli chef including costings.
• Weekly and daily deep cleans as per cleaning schedule and relevant paperwork.
• Completion of all regulatory paperwork in relation to HACCP, Food Hygiene and cleaning requirements.
• Work 5 over 7 days per week including some weekend work and bank holidays.

Meubles Cafe are currently recruiting for a full time Chef for our busy cafe located in the Kilkenny Retail Park. Trading over 7 days, from 9am to 5pm daily, our menu includes and a range of both traditional and contemporary options for breakfast, lunch, sandwiches, salads along with a selection of mouthwatering desserts and cakes.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience working in a busy fast paced environment and be able to work under pressure

The main tasks associated with the role are:

Menu development to include seasonality and freshness as key drivers of business

Preparing, cooking and serving food for a busy café for both breakfast and lunch,

Work closely with Deli chef and café team to ensure smooth day to day operations

Preparing all food in accordance with all HACCP regulations, and document same in accordance with FSAI regulations.

Forecasting food requirements and placing orders with suppliers

Controlling and documenting all food waste

Menu development with the cafe manager and deli chef (as required) including costings

Weekly and daily deep cleans as per cleaning schedule, and relevant paperwork and checklists to be completed

Completion of all regulatory paperwork in relation to HACCP, Food Hygiene and cleaning requirements.

Work 5 over 7 days per week as per business requirements will include some weekend work and some bank holidays
